How to send a great recognition
Two sentences, one packmate, one specific moment. Here's the formula that actually lands.
Recognition on BetterUs is designed to be specific, fast, and genuine. The two-sentence format forces the kind of precision that makes recognition feel good to receive.
How to send one
- 1Go to the Recognition section from your dashboard or tap the shortcut in Today's ritual.
- 2Choose a packmate.
- 3Write two sentences: name the trait, then name the impact.
- 4Tag the pillar it maps to (Den, Howl, Pack, Hunt, or Move As One).
- 5Hit send.
The formula that works
Sentence 1: Name the specific behaviour or trait. "The way you stayed calm in that client call when everything was falling apart..."
Sentence 2: Name why it mattered to the team or the work. "...kept us from spiralling and we shipped on time because of it."
That's it. The specificity is what makes it memorable.
What happens after you send
- The recognition appears on the Recognition Wall for the whole pack to see.
- The recipient gets a notification and the recognition sits on their profile.
- If it matches the active Wolf Mode pillar, it counts toward the weekly pillar bonus.
- It appears in the weekly leader digest sent Monday mornings.
Top tips
Make the most of this feature
- 1
The best recognitions are written within 24 hours of the moment — before the detail fades.
- 2
Name the behaviour, not just the person. 'You're great' doesn't land as well as 'the way you handled X...'
- 3
If Wolf Mode is active, send recognitions tagged to that pillar — they earn the recipient double sparks.
- 4
Don't wait for big moments. Small, consistent recognition compounds faster than occasional grand gestures.
