How do custom check-in questions work?

Add up to 3 daily questions unique to your workplace — built by you, answered by your pack every day alongside the core five.

Every workspace can add up to 3 custom questions that appear in the daily check-in flow immediately after the five Wolf Logic pillar questions (mood, energy, stress, belonging, confidence).

What they're for

The core five pillars give you universal signal. Custom questions let you track what's specific to your team right now — a values alignment pulse during a strategy reset, a workload check during a heavy sprint, a leadership clarity question mid-restructure.

Where to find it

Your custom questions live in two places:

  • Admin → Team — the Team page shows all 3 slots at a glance. Click any card to edit or add a question.
  • Admin → Questions — the dedicated builder page with full editing controls, templates, and a link to analytics.

Setting up your questions

  1. 1Go to Admin → Team and find the "Your check-in questions" section, or go directly to Admin → Questions
  2. 2Each of the 3 slots can hold one question. Click the + on an empty slot or the pencil on a filled one.
  3. 3Choose a response format: 1–5 scale, 1–10 scale, or Yes / No.
  4. 4Optionally customise the low and high anchor labels (e.g. "Scattered" → "Deep focus").
  5. 5Decide whether answering earns sparks and how many.
  6. 6Hit Save question. It goes live on the next check-in.

Using templates

Don't want to write from scratch? Click Browse question templates inside the editor. There are 16 ready-made questions across six themes: Vision & Values, Productivity, Leadership, Wellbeing, Innovation, and Customer Focus. Each template includes a hint about what the data is useful for.

How packmates answer

After completing the five core pillars, packmates see a "One more section" card and then answer your custom questions one at a time in the same full-screen flow. They can skip if they need to.

Viewing the results

Go to Admin → Tools → Your Questions → View analytics (or directly to /admin/questions/analytics).

You'll see:

  • Score — a 0–100 normalised score for each question with a band label (Thriving / Healthy / Mixed / Stretched)
  • Delta — whether the score is moving up or down vs the prior period
  • Sparkline — the last 14 days at a glance
  • Response stats — total responses, average daily rate, mean value
  • Pack breakdown — response rates per pack when you have multiple packs

Privacy

Individual responses are never visible to admins. Scores are only shown once 5 or more distinct people have answered — until then, you'll see a privacy threshold notice instead of numbers. This is the same rule that applies to all Wolf Logic pillar data.

Editing and removing questions

  • Edit — click the pencil icon. You can change the question text, format, labels, or spark value at any time. Historical data is preserved.
  • Remove — click the bin icon and confirm. The slot becomes empty. Analytics history for that question is preserved in the backend even though it no longer appears in the builder.

Tips

  • Run a question for at least 2 weeks before drawing conclusions — daily fluctuation is normal.
  • Questions that score consistently below 50 or show a sharp drop over 7 days are worth a direct conversation with the team.
  • Pair custom question trends with the core pillar scores for context — a low "did you have space to think creatively?" often correlates with low Hunt scores.
