Understanding the five Wolf Logic pillars

Den, Howl, Pack, Hunt, Move As One — what each pillar measures and why it matters.

Every check-in, challenge, and recognition on BetterUs maps to one of five pillars from the Wolf Logic Trust Lab framework. Here's what each one actually means.

Den — Belonging

Do I feel safe here? Do I belong?

Den is about psychological safety — the feeling that you can show up as yourself, make mistakes without fear, and know the team has your back. Low Den scores are often the silent alarm before someone hands in their notice.

Howl — Voice

Do I speak up? Do people hear me?

Howl is about contribution and being heard. It's low when people feel their ideas get talked over, when meetings are dominated by the loudest voices, or when feedback loops break down.

Pack — Trust

Do I trust my teammates? Do they trust me?

Pack is about peer-to-peer trust and collaboration quality. High Pack scores usually correlate with strong recognition activity — teams that recognise each other build trust faster.

Hunt — Mastery

Am I growing? Is my work purposeful?

Hunt is about the feeling of progress, skill development, and clarity of purpose in your role. Low Hunt often surfaces during restructures, unclear OKRs, or when people feel stuck in maintenance mode.

Move As One — Alignment

Do I know where we're going? Am I pulling the same rope?

Move As One is about strategic clarity and direction. It often dips after leadership changes, before planning cycles, or when communication from the top goes quiet.

Top tips

Make the most of this feature

  1. 1

  2. 2

Your weakest pillar is your growth edge for the week — check if any challenges match it.

  3. 3

When a pillar score surprises you, sit with the *why* for 30 seconds. That's the signal.
