Calendar integration

Connect Google Calendar or Outlook so the platform knows when to nudge and when to leave you alone.

The calendar integration lets BetterUs read (not write) your team's calendar availability to make ritual nudges smarter.

What the calendar integration does

It suppresses check-in reminders during back-to-back meeting blocks, times Wolf Mode announcements to avoid busy periods, lets audio reset nudges surface during natural gaps in the day, and shows "quiet hours" context in the pack presence view.

Setting up Google Calendar

  1. 1Go to /admin/settings/calendar and choose "Google Calendar."
  2. 2Follow the OAuth flow — you're authorising read-only calendar access.
  3. 3Choose whether to apply workspace-wide or only to specific packs.

Setting up Microsoft 365

  1. 1Go to /admin/settings/calendar and choose "Microsoft 365."
  2. 2Follow the Azure AD OAuth flow (read-only access to availability status only — we don't read event titles or details).

Privacy

The calendar integration reads only free/busy status — not event names, descriptions, attendees, or any content.

Top tips

Make the most of this feature

  1. 1

The calendar integration has the biggest impact on remote teams — it stops nudges landing in the middle of back-to-back video calls.

  2. 2

Let packmates know the integration reads only free/busy status — they often assume it reads event details.

  3. 3

Review the nudge timing in /admin/settings after a week — most teams find the default timing needs one small tweak.
