Creating action plans

Turn insight into action — structured plans that track follow-through on what the data is telling you.

Action plans are how you close the loop between what the data shows and what you actually do about it. Lightweight structured plans — a name, a goal, steps, a deadline.

Creating an action plan

  1. 1Go to /admin/action-plans → "New action plan."
  2. 2Name the plan (e.g., "Raise Den score from 48 to 65 in 60 days").
  3. 3Add up to 5 steps (each with an owner, a due date, and a description).
  4. 4Link the plan to a specific pillar or metric.
  5. 5Save and share with relevant managers if appropriate.

When to create one

A pillar score below 50 for two consecutive weeks, eNPS or BetterUs 12 results showing a clear pattern, watch list growing despite pulse responses, or a team event (restructure, departure, launch) likely to hit a specific pillar.

What makes action plans work

Set a calendar reminder to review each active plan weekly. Five minutes per plan. If a step is consistently slipping, either assign it more clearly or simplify it.

Top tips

Make the most of this feature

  1. 1

Write the goal as an outcome, not a task ('Raise Den from 48 to 65') — it keeps the plan accountable.

  2. 2

Keep action plans to 3–5 steps. Longer plans don't get executed.

  3. 3

Link each plan to specific data — you need to be able to measure whether it worked.
